Our Founders’ Stories

Before they ever met each other, both Chris and Fisa Owen shared a distinct curiosity. Born of a desire to learn, grow, and succeed they each developed a unique way of asking questions and seeking knowledge.
Chris was born and raised in a small town in the Willamette Valley. His love of competition was forged on the soccer pitch, football field, baseball diamond, and most obviously on the wrestling mat. Sports always played a major role in his life, and it didn’t hurt growing up in one of the top wrestling towns in the nation.
Growing up just 30 minutes away, Fisa also found sports as a driving force in her life. Fisa competed in volleyball, basketball, and water polo amongst other competitive activities.
Chris and Fisa both excelled academically and both continued their education beyond High School. Post-Secondary Education proved an excellent playground for asking question, diving into deep conversation, and expanding knowledge for both of them. Chris conducted his studies with the idea of going into teaching and coaching. Fisa pursued various courses of study following her desire to learn and grow.

Upon leaving school (with the intent of returning to get his Masters), Chris found himself working in sales. After an initial period of adjustment he was able to get past the stigma of the old used car salesman. Chris relished the chance to help people find the right solution and his natural curiosity led to him developing a unique style of asking questions to help his prospects along the journey.
Likewise for Fisa, leaving college would see her work through a few industries where she would have the chance to showcase her ability to ask empowering questions to help people in Customer Service, Marketing, and Sales. Her first taste of sales left Fisa excited at the challenge and she continued to hone her craft.
Married in 2016 in West Linn, Oregon, Chris and Fisa continued to work together in their careers and on side projects. People often thought it weird to see a husband and wife who wanted to spend so much time together working and playing.
The founding of Owen Professional Services gave both Chris and Fisa the chance to make a broader impact and serves as a platform for the humanitarian and charity work they both champion and continue to work ambitiously towards.
